Uh, how does "indirectly supporting homophobia" not equal supporting homophobia or more specifically be homophobic?

Honestly, you guys are making it hard to choose to be homophobic or not! STOP CONFUSING ME!!!

Also, what is homophobic in the movie? The book?

How the hell can this not be some twisted guide in how to be a homophobic?!? It fails to tell us how!!! THIS IS NOT RATIONAL?!?!

Stop taking my choices away you nazicommieteapartyobamaists!!! :smt013

You're probably already homophobic and just don't realize it yet. Chances are, if you watched a film that was made before the 90s, a decent percentage of the people involved in the film likely had homophobic beliefs. Anything before the 60s was probably made by a majority of homophobes. You can try to rationalize it however you want, but facts are facts.

She must have not understood the concept.

"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

Oh geez... it gets worst being a Cary Grant fan... liking John Wayne movies... The Mark of Zorro... shit... all those Hitchcock films... man am I a homophobe then. :-(

It's ok, Cat, I'm here to help. You can overcome your homophobia by not purchasing or viewing anything ever again. There may have even been a homophobe responsible for creating the internet, or the chair you are using, or maybe one works at your local water treatment facility. Use of any of these is putting money in the hands of homophobes, and that's unacceptable. It's 2013. This needs to stop.

Can't I just turn myself over to Starlord like in the old days here?

Why can't I have a choice in being or not being a homophobe in my entertainment choices?

It's like if I hate or dislike rap, then I'm racist. But when I hate or dislike Country Western, it's just not racist, but good taste. So confused...

You also have to like Disco and Pop. The music of our people. Otherwise you're a Nazi.

This film could offset the homophobia complaints by adding a Donna Summer soundtrack.

I really do not like disco and only some pop.

I'm a Rock, New Wave, Punk, Jazz type.

But I do like the music in this Utube -

Well, if you liked Rock Hudson movies, it cancels all the homophobia out.

A black guy said just recently that if you don't like Eminem, you're a racist.

Was there this kind of outrage when Card was writing Ultimate Iron Man for Marvel? Did he denounce them for featuring gay teens in YA etc? Or was his extremist stance and funding an organization to combat marriage equality a later thing.

I remember there was a big fuss about him doing a Superman short to the point where it was shot down before it got started, but he did write a fair bit for Marvel who also adapted his Ender series.

If you saw the original movies version of Hairspray, you're a homophobe. If you saw the 2007 remake, you're gay.

I've seen neither. What am I then?

The first time I heard about his views was when he was doing Ultimate Iron Man. I remember it being talked about on the boards (Newsarama, I believe) at the time. It was basically the same discussion and the same controversy. Just fewer people cared.

Cat, now you see the advantage of being evil, you can see any movie you want without caring what that makes you, since you're likely already that. After all, being evil automatically makes you all those things.
Achilles is the kind of evil that hollows out a volcano for a lair, and sends killer robots after his enemies.---Lord Simian
