February One-Shot Mashup: Green And Red Lanterns Merge Into One Title

For one month the two Lantern titles become one title. And a surprise DC character becomes the newest Red Lantern

Source: Newsarama / all over the Internet

This February DC hopes to pull the Green Lantern family of titles just a little closer with a special one-month only merging of two current Lantern titles. Green Lantern and Red Lanterns will become one title in a special flip-book edition. The flip-book will be double-sized, with two covers but only be priced at $2.99. Therefore readers get two regular-sized issues for the price of one.

This also serves as a “Lights Out” epilogue. In the final chapter of “Lights Out” in Red Lanterns  #24, Hal Jordan made a deal with Guy Gardner: if Guy convinced the Red Lanterns to help Hal’s team to defeat Relic, then the Reds would be allowed to pick one space sector as their very own, and the Greens would need to leave that sector.  Now Guy is calling in his marker. Perhaps Hal should have considered the fine print of that deal !

According to Green Lantern writer, Robert Venditti:

"This is one piece, but a very significant piece, of the aftermath of 'Lights Out', "It's going to impact not just the Lantern titles, but the entire DC Universe."

Combo pack edition:   $3.99 US

Don’t miss this amazing flip-issue with two covers at a special price of just $2.99! This DOUBLE ISSUE contains both GREEN LANTERN #28 and RED LANTERNS #28 !  With dozens of sectors in open rebellion against the Green Lantern Corps, Hal Jordan is faced with a crisis in the sector most important to him: 2814, home  of Earth…as well as Ysmault, home of the Red Lanterns. Hal made a dangerous bargain with Guy Gardner, and now it’s time to pay up! Plus: Guy and the Red Lanterns take over policing Sector 2814 !

And you’ll want to keep reading RED LANTERNS next month to see what happens to their newest member: SUPERGIRL!

First Lois Lane is the Earth 2 "Red Tornado", and now this! What is DC's obsession with the female menstrual cycle?!...

...was the article I really wanted to write about this but couldn't figure out how to do it without offending women. :P

I don't read Red Lanterns, so I'm kind of annoyed by this. Is it any good?

Charles Soule is da man. Red Lanterns, Swamp Thing, Superman/Wonder Woman, Thunderbolts and soon She-Hulk = his plans for comic book domination. :smt026

Why does Guy Gardner look like Chuck Norris in the 70's now?

Soule addresses Guy's new look :-D

We wanted to mix up Guy's look a little bit, the idea is, now that he's not in this paramilitary police organization, he's going to grow his hair out long, he's going to have this sweet handlebar mustache -- more like a biker gang dude! Alessandro did this incredible design that looks awesome. It's very cool!
