I STILL have not seen the movie and keep get a feeling I won't like it thanks to so many here and with that video.

I gotta buy the DVD, watch and then decide to yell at it or not. :-(
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

I liked MOS. My only problem was that last fight goes on waaaaay too long, like a SNL skit too long.

I wouldn't even let my dog be swept away by a tornado to avoid unwanted media attention.

This was the point where I was completely through with this movie. Then the destruction and 9/11 flashbacks and the Christ imagry then he and Lois kissing in the middle of it all...

And, though I haven't seen the movie since it's opening day, I kinda remember someone throwing a car at his mom and him not being bothered to check on her... DAMMIT! Now I have to see the movie again to see if I remember that scene correctly. :smt013 :smt011

So many of the problems could have been avoided if they had just decided to NOT do yet another origin story. Is there anyone in the world who does not know who Superman is by now? They could have still done the same basic story, with Zod et al, only much less wangsty and with better characterization if they'd just accepted that we all know who Superman is already and we didn't need to see him being all confused and torn. They could have shown him as competent instead.

I am just so sick of re-telling origin stories.

Here's what's going to happen. You'll love it for it's technical expertise. You'll hate it because David Goyer can't write a superhero movie these days to save his life, which to be fair, he doesn't have to. He gets paid either way. And Nolan is also infecting DC's movie efforts.

You'll hate it because it isn't Superman. More like Evil Earth 2 Superman. Only less competent than say Vibe. And not quite as smart as G'nort.

Then you'll realize that you too will be rooting for Batfleck to kick this guy's ass.

Don't forget how Superman tells the army he grew up in Kansas, had them give Lois a ride to the Kent farm as they picked up a buried alien spacecraft and, somehow, they have to resort to drones to try and (unsuccessfully) figure out Superman's secret identity.

The stakes were significantly higher than that, something more along the lines of:
