I took my sons to see Walking With Dinosaurs last night. The story was... eh, but the dinosaurs looked amazing. It seems like they filmed out in nature and just digitally inserted the dinosaurs (otherwise the rendering on the landscapes were fantastic).

Just watched The Howling: Reborn (2011) to clear it from my Netflix list before they lose it tonight at midnite. Was surprised at how excellent it was. Definitely one of my all-time favorite werewolf flix (reminds me a great deal of MTV's Teen Wolf in all the best ways). I highly recommend it. Strong story and casting and the efx are pretty decent too!

I saw the new Hobbit movie last night. I had some problems with it, but overall I enjoyed it.

I watched The Wolverine last night.

I liked it. Please don't hurt me.

rewatched Resident Evil: Retribution via Starz OnDemand (because they're losing it tomorrow). I also finally caught True Grit (2011) for the first time via FXM OnDemand. True Grit definitely deserved all the Oscar noms it got.

Me too, it wasn't bad at all, definitely better than the first spin off.

I also watched the Way, Way Back.

I highly recommend this to any awkward kids who grew up with a dick-head step parent in their lives. Rockwell is awesome and Carell has remarkable acting range. It's scary what a good actor he is.

The Hills Run Red - Just when you thought you had watched enough horror movies with mutated hillbillies up in there hills, along comes this gem. Baby face made for a pretty freaky killer and Sophie Monk's fun bags were a definite plus.

My wife picked out The Reader on Amazon Prime last night.
That movie has way too much penis for my taste. :smt102
But I'm now convinced Kate Winslet has a must-be-nude-for-1/3-of-every-movie-she's-in clause in her contract.

Really liked it, there are problems with the characters being a bit bland and having stupid-ass names, but once the action scenes start, you forget all that and I had a blast cheering on the giant robots and seeing them smash shit up. Some of the best action scenes ever.
