Also true. And he got me some of the best presents this year, too. (I'm wearing the bow tie tomorrow).

Overall, a stressful but rewarding year. My instructorship at the university was renewed, I picked up a couple of other classes, and am trying to figure out what I'll be doing next academic year. Been pretty lucky.

Just don't be that douchey guy wearing the bow tie - be the cool guy that wears a bow tie.
(Our office has one of each.)
((I'm neither - I may be thinner but I'll never view myself as thin enough to sport a bow tie.))

It was a good year. Nothing 'Wow!' happened, but on the whole things just seemed to be moving in the right direction. At work our manager of many, many years retired, but the transition went well and we're making some money (always good when you're in a bookstore).

The Senior Pastor of our church also retired, marking the end of another era.

At home things are good. My daughter Alanna moved back to Victoria from Calgary, though, thankfully, not back in with us. She and her boyfriend had some trouble finding work, but both are working now.

Looking ahead, I can only hope for more of the same in 2014. And more money. We plan on going to the Philippines this year and it'll cost!
