I read the first two issues. They were okay, and I won't be getting the third issue.

I've yet to read it, but it looks like more of what they tried before, time and time again. Make a kid friendly super-hero line.

They're going to fail again.

The last try, went down hard last year.
The prior attempt with DC was good, but stunted thanks to licensing (Too much interference from Archie).
The one prior to DC's was lame and never got off the ground.
Impact suffered being a licensed product (Too much interference from Archie) and not everything being all that related to the classic.
The 80s attempt via the direct market was nostalgic and fun. Sadly it was stopped by Archie and restarted poorly during the decade and let's face it, it was a time of First Comics, Eclipse Comics and other not typical titles.

"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"

""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

I got the first issue. It was ok. I didn't know the second came out (my shop must not have gotten a copy for my folder).

That's too bad. I really wanted to try a new fun superhero book. I like the look of the art in this book, judging by the previews.

Yeah, it's the catch-22 in comics. I've been a fan since finding out about the old MLJ characters back at the start of the 80s. But I've seen the drive by Archie to keep it all kid accessible, kill the comics. Simple fun comics just do not do well at all unless they're connected to DC or Marvel it seems. Even then, they get treated horribly by the publishers and the LCSes. Not exactly money earners.

Personally, I'd love to see DC buy up the characters and fold them into the DCU. Then include them also in a kid friendly line. But...

One thing that is interesting. Waid got in at DC with the Impact line back in the early 90s, so it's interesting to see him back again at them.

Another note, They really should try getting Warners to animate that universe of characters and then have the comics out. Funky fun art style with the right writers with the right type of stories and BOOM! Success I think. :-D
