That's too bad. I really wanted to try a new fun superhero book. I like the look of the art in this book, judging by the previews.
Yeah, it's the catch-22 in comics. I've been a fan since finding out about the old MLJ characters back at the start of the 80s. But I've seen the drive by Archie to keep it all kid accessible, kill the comics. Simple fun comics just do not do well at all unless they're connected to DC or Marvel it seems. Even then, they get treated horribly by the publishers and the LCSes. Not exactly money earners.
Personally, I'd love to see DC buy up the characters and fold them into the DCU. Then include them also in a kid friendly line. But...
One thing that is interesting. Waid got in at DC with the Impact line back in the early 90s, so it's interesting to see him back again at them.
