80 Year Old Man Excited for Batman/Green Hornet Crossover by Kevin Smith

The crossover event is sure to be a big hit with people born in the first half of the twentieth century.

With half of comic readers having been alive to watch the sixties Batman show as it originally aired, it makes sense to create comics that will appeal to those readers. It's with that in mind that DC and Dynamite are teaming up to bring readers Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet, a crossover event written by Kevin Smith and Matt Garman with art by Ty Templeton.

"We are totally screwed when they all die in... like five years or something." said a Dynamite executive, "Old people... they can only spend money while they are alive."

It's with that in mind that we spoke to Stanley Moore, the 81 year old youngest living fan of pulp heroes, and The Outhouse's top analyst for Dynamite comic book announcements. Stanley, what do you think about Batman and the Green Hornet?

"Horny? That's a private matter. In my day, people didn't ask about that kind of thing," said Stanley, shaking his head.

No no, Stanley, not horny. The Green Hornet. You know, the guy in the green fedora and swinger mask? He's got the sidekick, Kato?

"What do you expect me to do with a potato?! I'm horny, not hungry! Are you some kind of pervert?!" Stanley shouted.

That's beside the point. We're just trying to talk about the upcoming crossover.

"You want me to dress up like a lady, eh? Well, I'll try anything once," Stanley agreed.

Look, maybe we should just start over. You know Batman? DC Comics?

"Batman. Right."

And The Green Hornet? Published by Dynamite.

"Got it."

They're crossing over. It's a twelve part digital first series. Written by Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman, with art by Ty Templeton. It's following the 1967 TV episode where Green Hornet and Kato guest starred on Batman. It's like a sequel to that. And we just wanted to know what you thought of it.

"Well why didn't you say so?!"

We did say so, but you just mishear everything we say and turn it into something ridiculous, or worse, racist! It's so frustrating.

Stanley's eyes began to well up with tears. "I know I don't always hear things so good," he sulked. "The truth is, I just like having someone to talk to. I'm afraid that if I just commented on what you're asking about, you'd be done talking to me and then you'd leave and I'd be here in my apartment, alone, thinking about my own mortality. I don't mean to make your articles difficult. I'm sorry."

Stanley, that's… There's no need to be sorry. It's our fault. We should have realized how insensitive we're being. You can talk to us as long as you like.

"Really? You don't know how happy…"

Ok, that's enough of that, we got stuff to do. Jeeze. Old people drone on and on and on! Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet launches May 21!

Why is Kevin Smith involved? The man can't write Batman to save his life. And since this is 60's era, there probably won't be a need for graphic sexual references and needless cuss words.

Having Smith on writing duties is as bad an idea as giving Seth MacFarlane writing duties on...well, anything.

If this actually-going-to-happen crossover is any indication, it'd probably be written by Chuck Austen...
