B). What is a comic book commission?

A comic book commission is when you pay a comic book artist to draw a one of a kind piece just for you. I'm currently up to 24 commissions and 9 sketches.

Would you know them if I actually took the time to list them? Do you read comic books?

Yes, sir. I grew up reading pretty much any Marvel books and Batman. And I followed that passion to work in tandem with one of those companies.

VaderTheTrader is always talking about his comic book problems. I've bought three comic book commissions so far this week and I'm still looking for more. :DancingObama

When you do a commission is the artwork generally done on a blank cover variant or just on a separate paper, canvas etc.... I've been seeing quite a few blank variants with different artists own artwork

I never have them draw on a blank cover variant. A lot of them don't like to work on them anyways. Most of my pieces are 11x17. I have a few that are 14x20. Even the smallest size of 9x12 is bigger than comic book dimensions.

Interesting!

Side note: I'm really loving Wolf Of Wall Street right now!!!

As good as I hoped it would be!

Thanks, when you've been collecting comic books for as long as I have you eventually try to find something with a little more meaning that you can show off to people. Some people like to collect the original comic book pages(I have a few), but commissions are my thing.

One of my favorites.

Sorry you guys don't like it. I nominated it because I liked the stylized composition.

That's very cool. Do you ask artists to draw based on your descriptions or is it based on a comic image?
Back in my high school days there was this guy that came in where I worked and drew comics. It was amazing to watch.
I got a few sketches/autographs from some artists.
