Increasingly fewer of us. And that means those buying them are buying increasingly more books per person. One wonders at what point they will reach a tipping point where the customers' pocket books can no longer handle the endless expansion.

Yes and people spent money buying Vanilla Ice albums. People used to watch a show called Glee. A pile of shit is a pile of shit and DC Comics are a pile of shit these days.

Just as in the 90s with the Image crowd, folks will stop and it could be a dead stop. Image had that magic number of (roughly) 5 years. Then sales began to drop and drop hard.

Same will happen here.

As for the long list of titles... it's the analogy with a restaurant menu. It's only good if all or even most of the menu is done well and worth seeking out. But otherwise, you cannot get even one thing right...

DC Comics are like McDonald's. They may have high sales, but compared to their quality in the past and the quality of the present competition... they are crap and utter crap. Over priced shit on a bun.

LOL.

This is hilarious but also very much on point. It is, to a less extreme level, exactly what has happened. Market more and more comics to less and less people.

"Hey, you know that cover gimmick we used last September?"

"You mean the 3D lenticular covers that we lost money on?"

"Yeah, those."

"What about it?"

"Let's do it again next September."

"Sounds like a plan."
