Yeah, I really liked it. A lot more than i expected, actually. There were some quirks here and there, obiviously, but as a whole , it was well-paced and interesting.
Things i liked:
Kanan: Freddie Prinze Jr did a commendable job, and the character is likeable and a solid leading man, and written realistically and well. I feel comfortable with him being the hero of the story.
Zeb: will probably be the breakout character of the show. extremely likeable and well-designed. Also his gun has awesome sound effects
Chopper: not much in this episode, but I'm a fan
Kallus: A really well-done villain, well-acted and a nice contrast to the terrible "goofy" Imperial officers we've seen so far.
the visuals: nice style and color palette, feels like OT era Star Wars.
the sounds: the sound effects were fantastic; better than Clone Wars, and the music was varied and interesting, bringing in bits from the movies was smart as well
Sabine:pleasant surprise, not annoying
Ezra: see above
Things I didn't like:
The wookies: an obvious visual downgrade from the Clone Wars. Everything else looked pretty great in the show, but seeing them so soon after they were done so well on the Clone Wars really felt jarring and was probably not the smartest move when trying to sell this new style.
Imperials: dumb and silly Imperial officers makes me want to vomit. the whole allure of the Empire is that they are cold and militaristic, not goofy and comically cruel.
Hera: This one hurt the most. She was the most eagerly anticipated character for me, but she mostly fell flat. She was given stupid lines, and felt pretty awkward most of the time, and really amounted to just some chick that flies the ship. This is definitely something i expect to change though, since she appears much better in the shorts, and Disney seems to be pushing her.
wavy lightsaber: a nitpick really, but i didn't like how large the distortion of the lightsaber is. they went through all the trouble to make it flicker and take the shape of the OT sabers, but giving it a gooey feel in movement seems weird.
