Apparently has not been renewed, unfortunately.

That's a shame, too. It definitely had its funny moments. :(

Well, that sucks. His show wasn't ground-breaking but it was fun for what it was.

I honest to GOD do not get why people have this attitude.

Wasn't it your cup of tea? Hate it? Not a fan? THEN DON'T FUCKING WATCH IT.

Why take pleasure in the canceling of something others like? No one was forcing you to like watch or like it. There are PLENTY of things I don't like (most DC comics at the moment) but I don't want them canceled. They mean nothing to me and don't affect my life in any way. How was Wheaton's show having any effect on you?

Fuck me that's a shitty thing. :x :smt011

The problem with this idea is why shit like the the Kardashians show, the Real Housewives shows, and other really bad shows get made.

Yeah, people should watch what they like and shut up about things they don't like but if shit becomes the norm (and the entertainment industry is all about copying successful things), then there's no excuse.

I watched it once, because Wheaton was on @midnight to promote it. I like him, the description was cool, so I gave it a shot. I never watched it again, poked my head in here and said my piece.

Which would have been the end of it. I'm not sure what about my post set you off. I didn't say some dumb shit like "I won't rest until I dance on Wheaton's grave for ruining my life by making this show." What I said was, "good riddance" meaning that Sy Fy can maybe, hopefully fill the slot with something I might find entertaining. I certainly didn't use it as opportunity to soap box about something unrelated- like an unneeded or unsollicited comment about DC, that is certainly a more egregious example of the behavior you so vehemently abhor.

Futhermore, I could certainly argue that a show of such poor quality by a figurehead of a subculture that I participate in does indeed have an effect on my life; as it perpetuates stereotypes about the subculture, especially given the snarky content of the show I happened to view. All of this seems to fit more appropriately the behavior set that you seemed to think I deserved a virtual tongue lashing over.

Or how about this irony - that it aired on a channel that at one point wanted so bad to remove a stigma attached to its fanbase that it changed the spelling of its name in some misguided attempt to rebrand itself.

But sure, I'll take one for the team here and be the villain.

Eh, I didn't think it was the worst, but I didn't make an effort to watch it either. He's just not that funny (at least in that venue).

I also watched one episode, and I agree that it was just okay, nothing to write home about.

Weak... :smt011

It still goes back to DON'T FUCKING WATCH IT.

I have never seen a Kardashian show (so, really I can't even judge it on its quality) but based on what I have seen in previews I didn't think I would like it. I know people that (inexplicably) do like it and I don't begrudge them that. It being on doesn't affect me or what I watch in the least.

If we all liked the same stuff it would be pretty vanilla.

It was the good riddance part that 'm calling you out on.

I think I succinctly explained myself.

But you're basing all of that on one viewing. One. Single. Viewing.

And you think a TV show has an effect on your life because of the sub-culture you're part of?

Thankfully you have the Big Bang Theory to counter whatever ill effects Wheaton's show may have had on your life.

Nice pick and choose quoting you would make a great politician. Exemplified by your condemnation of actions you simultaneously perform yourself.

I specifically addressed what you called me out on. You ignored my call out. The rest of the post is a hypothetical response to your assumption of my intentions and obvious rage at the mere existence of the show.
