I think my favourite is the next one, Wizard and Glass, but they are all good.

I definitely agree with you on the world. I mean, I've never read anything quite like it in terms of all of the different genres that are melded into a single universe, which in itself is only one of several universes (still early on in the series, but from what I've been told, that will be fleshed out some).

Oh, and Roland is nuckin' futs. That's right, I said it. Nuckin' futs.

I can definitely see this. Maybe its because he's hoping through universes/times and each change feels like a complete break, but yeah, it does lend itself to not being nearly as engrossing as the first book, which I read in a single day (thanks Mom & Dad for Christmas).

I'm on a Bukowski kick these days. Finished "Factotum" and "Women" and am almost done with "The Most Beautiful Woman in Town."

I'm reading a collection of H.P. Lovecraft stories called The Thing on the Doorstep and Other Stories. I just finished At the Mountains of Madness. I hope Guillermo del Toro gets to do a movie adaptaion of this story after he does The Hobbit and its sequel, because it is creepy as hell.
