Pixar announced yesterday that its next short film, Partly Cloudy, will tell the story of the storks who deliver babies - and their helpers, the cloud people.

The short's central characters will be Peck, a long suffering stork; and Gus, a hot-tempered cloud who specialises in designing babies for dangerous animals.

The film, directed by Peter Sohn, will play before Up.

Sadly that's in the hands of Imagi. I liked TMNT fine, but I didn't really like what I saw of Astro Boy so far.

I wouldn't mind if PIXAR collaborated with Ghibli...

And a review of this (another technically anime, but I doubt many saw this in the original Japanese)...

The summation:
Mysterious Cities of Gold is not a deep, philosophical, or particularly moving show. It is, however, some of the most fun you can have watching cartoons. You probably won't want to re-watch it, but that's hardly a reason to condemn it. A hearty thumbs up.

Hasbro, Discovery to Launch New Kids Channel
By Maxie Zeus
04-30-2009, 10:56 PM
Discovery Communications and toymaker Hasbro will team up to launch a new kids network and website, the companies announced today.

The new network, which is expected to launch in late 2010, will draw on Discovery content, such as Tutenstein and Peep and the Big Wide World, and debut new live-action and animated programming based on such Hasbro properties as Romper Room, Transformers, Tonka, My Little Pony, G. I. Joe, The Game of Life, Trivial Pursuit, Cranium, and Scrabble. Hasbro will also invest in a new creative team to produce new content, including game shows.

Under terms of the joint venture Hasbro will purchase a fifty-percent stake in Discovery Kids Network and related assets for $300 million. The joint venture will also acquire a minority interest in the U.S. version of Hasbro.com.

No management team has been announced for the new venture, which will continue to operate under the Discovery Kids name until the debut of the new channel.
