Sadly, I kinda miss the big grin, but the scars do fit the tone of Joker these days and are a little more believable than someone having that large a grin stuck on their face.

I'm not surprised by who the new Batman is. I do...
...wish Dick weren't so mopey so far in Battle of the Cowl and just man up. It'd fit past characterization more, but instead they've got him back to his Devin Grayson "oh, man, I can't believe I killed a man" or whatever personality. He worked much better and with more confidence in Dixon's Nightwing.
Edit: I wonder if Daniel really means he's not going to blog anymore, and if that was a proper leak of who Batman'll really be. I hope they don't go all Winter Soldier on Batman and give it to Jason Todd.

I think it's accurate to a degree in that Dick doesn't want to be Batman or be Bruce, and now it's being thrust upon him. He's still confident to a degree, but it's an awful situation.

Red Arrow is Robin to Dick's Batman. That way Winnick can go further pushing his anti-Chappy agenda.

Geez.

Too bad they're calling Chris Kent is Nightwing right now. We could've started a great "Roy harper is the new Nightwing" rumor to make Chap's head explode.

If Dick is indeed Batman, and Damian is Robin, I hope that Tim is Red Robin.

I don't know, I still think despite countdown, they'll try to shoehorn Jason into Red Robin.

That would suck, where does that leave Tim? I doubt DC is going to want two Nightwings running around.

Tim gets to strike out on his own. As the new Aquaman.

:D

ACtually, an interesting story for Tim, since he's the detective, would be to have him somehow come across a clue that Batman isn't dead, but just somewhere else, then use Tim as the character trying to bring Batman back. Gives his something to do, works towards a long-term resolution to the saga, and leaves Dick free to be Batman.

I can see that, but he'd need an identity, wouldn't he?

I don't know. Maybe. But there's enough that could be done working within the Bat family or members of the super hero community, that it could be done without really having to worry about an identity.

Set is as the story of a kid who lost one dad, and will do anything to avoid losing another. There's pathos there.
