So I just came out of the Last Jedi.

It was definitely over hyped. Not as good as A New Hope or Empire. However, it is very good, though I am not sure how I feel about some parts of it.

The major plus point, just like Rogue One, is that this is a new story. Also some good surprises. The action scenes are all very good and this film is really funny.

Major weak points are Kylo Ren is lame and always will be. Also not sure I like Luke's whole story arc.

I am going to say it is 4.6/5, but need to watch it again.

Mostly I can live with this, but I find that having started enjoying running and getting just past the halfway point of the Couch to 5K program, I'm actually missing being able to get out for a run at lunchtime.

That's just nature telling you to do starting strength instead.

Unfortunately the male guests will mostly be fat and gross. I suppose if that's your thing go ahead.

Is it a remake of Empire?

If someone wants to hookup with gross fat guys they don't need to get a job in a hotel, they can just check Craigslist. :P

No, a very different story. Which is a major improvement compared to TFA.

Wouldn't they just get on grindr or is that slightly higher standards than craigslist?

That's a surprise. Guess the next one will be a remake of RoJ.

I am sure JJ Abrams will try his best to copy old ideas. However, the way TLJ finishes means the story can go in lots of different directions. A real shame Rian Johnson isn't making the next one, he at least has original ideas.

I should point out that TLJ does have a few similarities with Empire: young warrior seeks out grumpy master for training, a fight between Imperial walkers and speeders. However, these are very broad similarities and everything plays out very differently to Empire. It definitely isn't a copy of Empire.

Two of my editors keep insisting I make myself and my ideas more public on the internet. Now taking cash bets on how quickly I can make them realize the stupidity of such a request.

I just read a review by another friend who thinks that it was just a few ideas from ROTJ and Empire thrown together, BUT felt that Kylo Ren was the one really good thing about it.

I mean, I already know that I hate the whiny, pissy bag of pus, so I probably won't see it that way, but it's interesting how different impressions a film can make.
