Fox Pulling Buffy The Vampire Slayer License From Dark Horse

Expect Disney to farm out the Buffy license to IDW in a couple years.

Dark Horse Comics has held the Buffy The Vampire Slayer comic book license since 1998, but with Fox being absorbed by Disney, the publisher won't have that license much longer. Buffy The Vampire Slayer originally ran on Fox from 1997-2003.

In an interview with Valnet Inc. Presents Comic Book Resources, creator Joss Whedon revealed the news.

In the meantime, we want to do something more with Dark Horse right now – especially because Fox is taking the Buffy license and the Firefly license back. And Dark Horse has shepherded these licenses for decades now.

Buffy's time at Dark Horse will wrap up in a four issue Season 12, written by Whedon and Christos Gage, with art by Georges Jeanty

Maybe they'll add her to the Marvelverse proper? We can have a Blade-Buffy crossover where Blade kills Angel. Or Buffy kills Jubilee, she is still a Dracula right?

I hope IDW fixes the Transformers before taking on any more Licences.
