That is beautiful!

Regarding latest Dr Who episode that just aired, it was pretty decent. Nothing incredible, but a few hints of what is to come. Curious to see what is the Timeless Child. Looks like the alien race from the first episode will be a recurring threat as well (don't remember their name).

The only bad part was when one of the companions tried to do his "call of duty" impersonation, that was a bit cringe worthy.

I'm loving Jodie, but so far the rest seems to just be trying too hard; from too many lens flares to basically stepping out of scene to apologize for being different, NO, they're not actually doing that, but after a while it starts to feel like it. Meanwhile the companion I liked most in the premiere was gone and I just don't care if the young guy with chip on his shoulder bonds with the old guy that only wants to be loved. . .
Not sure of the new Tardis interior, either.

I thought Who was decent enough but at this point I also try not to let myself get too wound up by it as it is still supposed to be primarily a kids show.

Having said that, at one point I thought they might make a season long story out of the Doctor's quest to get the Tardis back. It would pose a lot of challenges in terms of how to keep them moving around from place to place and time to time, but might also have been an interesting change-up...

I finished volumes two and three of Superior foes of Spider-man. The first volume was good, the second was just OK ( because they had a few fill in issues) and third volume is very good, with some laugh out loud moments. I can see why Nick Spencer got the ASM job based on this. Very good ending to the story as well.

Most kids shows are made for adult males and I think the Tardis should be the villain.

My niece and nephew love it. Jodie is their Doctor. Watching them discuss it makes my geek heart swell.

My niece has also recently powered through my Asterix collection... need to fuel the nascent comic geekette. Any early christmss recommendations beyond Bone and Glister?

That was thought of mine as well. One of the things that has bugged me about Dr. Who since it returned with Christopher Eccleston is that so much of the series' stories have been very Earth centric. I remember in the old series the Doctor used to go to other planets a lot more regularly than the character has in the new series. I was looking for ward to a season with the Doctor hopping from planet to planet, looking for the Tardis. An entire season that wasn't Earth centric at all was something I thought would be really fun.

Really, what's the sense in defending Trotzky by saying he wasn't a murderer on the magnitude of Stalin?

It's like saying Goering wasn't as bad as Himmler.

Supergirl's Adventures In The Eighth Grade is a lot of fun.

The Phoenix is great as well and you can get subscriptions to really build that regular habit :) (they also have a bunch of trades if you want to get specific stories).
