I need your guys' opinion.

My husband and I are going to Toledo after he gets off work to get my comics, and probably go see a movie. There are three playing at the same time. Just not sure which one to go see:

Sweeny Todd
National Treasure
Alien vs. Predator

what do you all think? :?

I would recommend National Treasure, if you liked the first one. If not, Sweeney Todd. :D

Sweeney Todd is the only one of those I want to see, so...

that's the two I'm leaning toward. I enjoyed the first Treasure movie, but not a huge fan of Cage. On the other hand, huge fan of Depp, but not sure I want to deal with gore. Oh the dilema!

Are you seriously considering Cage over Depp?

Well, I wanted my husband to think he actually had a choice. He did choose Cages movie until I reminded him that the kids wanted to see that one with us. So we went and saw Depp. :-D

Sweeny Todd, well done movie. Depp, haunting and a tad bizarre, just the way Mr. Burton apparently wants him in all his movies. Helen something Carter has a beautiful singing voice, and Allan Ruckman just has to stand in front of the camera to impress me. Perhaps its those cold dark eyes of his. The young boy was probably the best singer out of the bunch.

Don't want to give anything away, but it's worth going to see at the theater. Of course I will probably own it when it comes out. As for the direction. Well, this is Tim Burton we're talking about here, and although I know nothing about the actual musical, I have a feeling that this musical and Tim were born to work together. Still... I liked Hairspray better.

But Depp! Oh that man can act!

4 out of 5 stars for me.

Sweeney Todd will be the next movie I see in the theaters. Glad to hear you thought it was good.

I loved National Treasure. A great movie for the whole family.

My brother and I just got back from seeing AVP2. Good Lord was there a lot of gore in that movie. And not just alien gore. And not just adult gore either. There was little kid gore as well. I know the aliens will kill anyone, but damn that was too much for me.

I hate when movies think they need gore to be good...personally, I like when that stuff happens off screen...blood spatter makes it so much more mysterious.

Something for Shawn

Xavier saying Ratatouille

We got this movie a couple weeks ago and just love it! I really love the way Xavier says it (which is why I ask him to repeat it).

I just watched the Heartbreak Kid. It was good Farrelly Bros and Ben Stiller stuff, but not as funny as Something About Mary (I think that's their best movie). Some scenes are hilarious though.

I watched Shrek 3 last night and it wasn't nearly as good as the first two.

that is just adorable. My husband heard him saying it and had to watch it as well. I miss my kids being that age.

Watched The Paradine Case last night. It was pretty meh.
I'm sure it would have been much better if Producer, David O. Selznick didn't rewrite Hitchcock's script and force the two leads on him.
Hitchcock's choices of Laurence Olivier and either Greta Garbo or Ingrid Bergman would have been so much better than Gregory Peck (who I like a lot) with his lousy British Accent (was he even trying?) and the boring Alida Valli.
