I am almost completely uninterested in new music right now. I keep going back and collecting stuff I missed out on for some reason (Daft Punk. Love em), or filling gaps in my collection (Beatles)

I still find myself loving loads of new stuff - especially here in Sweden, which is Indiepop central. Last year was a great one for new music, I think.

I don't listen to radio, and I don't have a lot of time to seek new stuff out any more. I have loved hip hop and r&bfor most of my life, and both have really let me down over the past few years, so I'm just not that interested in a lot of stuff.

There are a number of technically proficient singers, bu they have no depth or soul. And the obsession with image turns me off completely. So I'm much more interested in collecting everything by The Supremes than I am in wading through all the Cassies and Pussy Cat Dolls to find the non-crap.

Radio and TV isn't where you find good music ;)

I agree with you on hip-hop and R&B. There really are very few soul singers left, and most of the current crop of rappers are truly bad. I like to think things will change though - I keep my ears open for the next classic, you know?

It can be, if you know where to look. You're just mad because you're Drucker's only fan. :P

Agreed, but I don't have the time to seek it out like I used to. Once you leave college it gets a lot harder.

Maybe the radio, yeah, but it's rare you find a station that actually plays fresh stuff that's actually good. College radio, maybe, depending on who the DJs are (the DJs at my school are all progressive metalheads who need serious psychotherapy). The TV never has good stuff on, at least mine doesn't, unless it's playing at the end of a TV show.

And this Face Candy CD is pretty unimpressive so far.

Actually, sometimes you find good stuff playing during tv shows and movies. That's how I got into Zero 7 back in the day.

Yeah, I heard them on Huff. Of course, it was after Max sent me that track.

I find most of my music through the internet ;)

Actually, Europe is far better for music Radio and TV than North America. There's much more choice, for one thing.

I blame the South. Other than Outkast, the hip hop coming from there has just routinely sucked. Massively sucked. OMG it's so terrible. Gah.

I also blame Puffy. But I won't even start that rant because I don't have the energy...

Well, as far as art goes, Europe has been ahead of North America for ummm...hundreds of years ;)
