Straight to the current topic: http://www.theouthousers.com/forum/view ... &start=395

The rules? We have no rules!

Except we do.

Anyone wishing to participate, post your related artwork and I'll throw it in a nice article next monday. Make sure to include any information that you want put up on the frontpage such as Deviant Art home or Outhouse Art Thread.

If you don't want your art to appear on the frontpage but you still want to post it in THIS thread, just tell me you don't want it on the frontpage and we're cool.

Any offtopic artwork is welcome. It just won't make it in any article unless it's on topic. This should be a good thread to get advise on how to improve your art so feel free to fill it up with any art you want!

If you officially want IN, let me know, I'll add you to the list! You can let me know your topic whenever you think it up and it will also be added. Membership is pretty easy: just show up in the thread once a month. Preferably with art but we know how art is. Still, the more active you are, the better your art will become. I've seen MAJOR improvement by every member of the Newsarama Art Group so it's totally worth it.

OK, that's enough rules. He's our...

I've never read The Authority, so i did some wiki-diving and settled on The Engineer because she had a pretty cool look.

Cheers man.

Coloured by hand, using inks and brushes. I prefer to do just about everything by hand.

And then the white was tidied up in (to my mild shame) MS Paint, as i'm on a new computer, and haven't gotten around to find a version of photoshop for it yet.

The girl would have to go first. She was too unpredictable. But despite her myriad abilities, she was still human, and therefore vulnerable. He would probably have to use the staff to keep his distance, but with the proper application of force, he could sever her vertebrae at the 3rd cervical level and take out Jenny.

Swift and the Engineer would have to be next. The Engineer may be a brilliant woman, but she was no expert in combat, regardless of what wetware she may be employing. In 3,500 of the 3,892 scenarios he ran, the Engineer preferred to use high caliber weapons in trying to take him out. It would be a simple matter of positioning Swift in the line of fire and letting the Engineer do the rest. Despite that technology running through her veins, killing Swift will most certainly make Angie pause, if only for a moment, but it would be enough. The nano-edge dagger he carried could pierce her shell in that moment.

His lover would come next. Apollo, his beautiful husband, would want to talk. He would try to understand these actions. He would hesitate. He felt for the capsule on his belt with just the smallest twinge of guilt. Apollo didn't know about it, but it was developed by Bendix. It would rob the sun god of his abilities for 15 minutes. The Midnighter lost count of the number of ways he could kill a normal man in 15 minutes.

The Doctor would be difficult. In the proper frame of mind, the Doctor might easily be the most powerful being on the planet, but he was soft, easily distracted. Any number of sonic weapons or even something as simple as a flashbang could distract the Doctor from using his abilities.

Hawksmoor was a different story. The man knew how to fight, and would certainly not hesitate to kill. His alien-enhanced form made him difficult to read. There was no scenario he could run that guaranteed him victory, and the Midnighter smiled.

The girl walked into the room from the door that was 15 feet from him. This was not a good position for him, and he would be hard-pressed to close that distance and get into effective combat range. He cursed himself silently for making such a tactical mistake.

"Hey, dad. What chu doing?" Jenny said.

"Nothing, honey. Just thinking."

"Still trying to figure out how to take us all out?" Jenny said casually.

The Midnighter smiled, "You know me so well."

As I mentioned elsewhere, I don't know anything about the Authority... but after looking into the cast I'll probably end up doing Midnighter. He's seems the closest to my style of drawing.

I found out my sister's printer has a scanner so I might join if I can do something half decent.
