he would figure out some sly way of making the three word rating system into a numerical score, he is a statistical genius kind of like Raymond Babbitt. ;)

The system we have works. Everyone has their own ideas about what makes a book a 7 or a 9, but by rolling everyone's scores up into one average all of that stuff balances itself out.

A buy it/skip it system is really only is relevant when talking about a comic before it is released. By the time we compiled a group consensus the book would be a week old. If someone really wants to know how we felt about the book they should be reading the reviews, not just looking at the numbers.

The numbers are just for a historical comparison and is more relevant in terms of being a list of "favorites" than a "best of" list.

I don't disagree with that fact at all. However, people do what they want and see what they want. Every Saturday since we put the FCBD banner in the window, I have had at least five people ask if we have any of the free comics left... the banner clearly says the first saturday in may and the date... Same thing two years ago at the mall when we put a FCBD banner in the window while we were working on the interior and people kept telling me they couldn't wait until we opened the store on May 1st, which made no sense at all.

Your customers are stupid. The Outhouse community (mostly) isn't. :P

Edit to add:

Proof that your customers are stupid? They don't by Phonogram. 8)

Yours are about comics, something we all have a vested interest in which makes us interested in your stories. My stories involve pastries, not as exciting but I still get a truckloads of idiots in the shop.
