![]() Bla nótt yfir himininn. Bla nótt yfir mér. Horf-inn ut um gluggann. Minn með hendur. Faldar undir kinn. Hugsum daginn minn. Í dag og i gær. Bla nattfötin klæða mig i. Beint upp i rum. Breiði mjuku sængina. Loka augunum. Ég fel hausinn undir sæng. Starir a mig litill alfur. Hleypur að mér en hreyfist ekki. Ur stað - sjalfur. Staralfur. Opna augun. Stirurnar ur. Teygi mig og tel. Kominn aftur og alltalltilæ. Samt vantar eitthvað. (Eins og alla veggina) Hey, I'm posting my 100th consecutive review this week. I can post Sigur Rós lyrics in the opening if I want to dammit. ![]() ![]() Final Crisis Aftermath: Run! #1 as selected by Daringd Written by Matthew Sturges Art by Freddie E. Williams II Cover by Kako The Human Flame is a dead man. Literally just waking up after the events of FINAL CRISIS, he realizes all the heroes in the DC Universe target him as the lowlife who taped the murder of the Martian Manhunter with his cell phone. On top of that, all the villains in the world want to kill him for selling them out to Libra. He's powerless and penniless, and his only chance for survival is to run! This 6-issue miniseries examines the underbelly of the DCU and what happens when the wrong choices catch up with you. Nothing can prepare you for this chase. DC Universe | 32pg. | Color | $2.99 US ![]() ![]() The Unwritten #1 as selected by McKegan Written by Mike Carey Art by Peter Gross Cover by Yuko Shimizu Everyone's read the Tommy Taylor books, the popular series of novels turned pop culture phenomenon about a boy wizard's adventures. And everyone knows about Tom Taylor, the boy the novels were based on, whose life was so overshadowed by his Dad's fictional epic that Tom's become a lame Z-level celebrity at best and a human viral marketing tool at worst. But what if the resemblance goes even deeper? What if Tom is the boy-wizard of the books made flesh? And if that sounds crazy, why is it bringing him into the crosshairs of an ancient faction that has never been named in any book or text? To discover the truth about himself, Tom must search through all the places in history where fiction and reality have intersected. And in the process, he'll learn more about that unwritten cabal and the plot they're at the center of –– a plot that spans all of literature from the first clay tablets to the gothic castles where Frankenstein was conceived to the self-adjusting stories of the internet. A conspiracy mystery a la The Da Vinci Code, THE UNWRITTEN is the eagerly anticipated reunion of Mike Carey (X-Men, HELLBLAZER) and Peter Gross (FABLES, Chosen) – the team behind the multiple Eisner-nominated LUCIFER. Acclaimed artist Yuko Shimizu (SANDMAN: DREAM HUNTERS) joins the duo on covers, and the series kicks off with a 4-issue opening storyarc with the extra-sized 40-page debut promo-priced at only $1.00! Vertigo | 40pg. | Color | $1.00 US | Mature Readers ![]() If you would like to join the group it's easy. Just post a review and I'll add you to the member's list. As long as you stay active, eventually it will be your turn to make a pick. With $4 comics becoming the norm, the economy being what it is and the growing popularity of mail order services the Review Group recognizes that it's becoming harder and harder to commit to participating each and every week. As long as you can post one review per calendar month you will stay in the member's list. It doesn't matter if you post your review the week of it's release or if you post it later. Going forward, there is no such thing as a "late" review. The only request I make with the new format is that if you don't plan on posting a review or if you're going to be posting late is that you drop a note in the thread so that I can keep track of who is active and who isn't. The Spreadshee of Doom is thorough, but it can't read your mind. ![]() Comics are to be scored on a scale from 1-10. 1 being suck, 10 being a damn good comic. Beyond that, there's no right or wrong. ![]() If it's your week, you must announce your selection by 5pm EST the day Diamond releases it's shipping list. If you do not announce your pick at that time, I will add a poll to the thread that will remain open until 12pm EST so that the group can make the selection for that week. To ensure that you know it's your week, I will PM you when Midtown's list goes live on Thursdays.
