Nashville's bigger problem is lack of business sector support. The Thrashers have that.

The Islanders need a new arena, that's all. It's a BIG all though.

Tampa sort of has a fan base, but if you moved the team tomorrow, no one would care. They would get on with their lives. Same as in Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville, etc.

Hell, they've won as many cups as half the O-6.

They aren't going anywhere, sorry.

Tampa has a Cup. I don't think they disappear.

I can see Nashville going away.

They WERE successful. So were the Oilers and Maple Leafs at one time. But you can't live in the past. And they aren't successful as far as making money, which is the bottom line according to their owner. They COULD be successful, but they said the same thing in Quebec and Winnipeg, but they had to move because they couldn't get new arenas built.

It's a shame how the Islanders have become the red-headed stepchild in NY, but unless they get a new arena soon, it's totally realistic that they could move. The full circle; the Devils started in KC, and now the Islanders could go to KC. Las Vegas is another possiblity.

It pisses me off to no end that Tiny Gary would rather put teams in Las Vegas and Kansas City than put a team in Canada. All because of his precious non-existent US television deal.

Funny, I thought the Devils moved from Colorado?

Season Ticket Sales are up HUGE with the win of the #1 pick, look it up. NHL just had a write up about it the other day.

If they fuck up that draft pick though, they'll be a lot of disappointment.

Too bad they didn't have it when Crosby was available. I recall Woody Page saying the NHL should've fixed the draft to where a NY team picked first after the lockout.

Tavares could be that.

He and Okposo won't be Ovechkin/Semin or even Malkin/Crosby.

They could EASILY be Kane/Toews though. And that's fine by me.

Add in the young guys like Nielsen, Bergenhiem, Bailey, Joensuu, Comeau, etc. and our rebuild looks very similar to the plan Chicago took.

I think that's a sound strategy.

Well, look at how drafting Crosby revived the Penguins. And that was before they knew Malkin might be an even better player!

I also would rather have teams in Quebec and Winnipeg where they have more rabid fans.

Kansas City Scouts-->Colorado Rockies-->New Jersey Devils

Exactly.

Having Crosby in NY would've given the NHL a higher profile.

Joe, Quebec was the worst run franchise in the history of pro sports.

They make the Clippers look like the Yankees.

THEY SOLD DRAFT PICKS.

Like when the NBA put the Knick's card in the refrig so the guy would know which one to pick first so they could get Patrick Ewing.

Having Crosby on the Rangers maybe. On the Islanders? Not so much.
