Starlord has now posted 75 total reviews! :smt023

King Impulse should make it to 25 this month and fourthman is on pace to hit 100 the first week in June assuming he doesn't pull another Watchmen.

Really?! :o How did that happen? :?

IN a related comic to last week... It seems Escape is about Tom Tresser reading Final Crisis.

I picked up two weeks worth of comics yesterday, so I will be posting reviews of The Unwritten #1 and Final Crisis: Run #1 by this weekend. Long story short, I enjoyed both. Run #1 was just violent fun, and The Unwritten has set up what could be a very interesting story. I could see it going in a few different directions, and I hope they go with a less obvious explanation for what's going on.

Gonna pick up this and my other crap today, looking forward to reading it...
I am leaning towards Cap 50 for next week but I could be talked into Herogasm #1
...Killapalooza #1 can be in the conversation also.

No arguments from me on any of those.

Had to look up Killapalooza. Definitely the most bizarre solicitation I've read this year. It could be great or it could be the worst comic ever.

Wow, that was way more awesome than anything that cost a dollar should be. I'm definitely in for however long it goes. Review to pop up at the weekend.

killapalooza sounds interesting but it also sounds like the last page you find out they botched/got set up on their assassination. Herogasm on the other hand, Big thumbs up.

Entertaining comic. Mainly setup, but I like the potential of this series. Also, the last page with the missing author's notes were cool.

This was ace, great concept and lots of interesting ideas.

I liked the art a lot too, Gross really impressed me in Chosen, but I think it's better here.

Review to come at the weekend, I've got an essay to do (Film Studies, development of the Western over time), so I don't know when.

Great book! It was practicaly a full arc in one issue. I'll get a review in this weekend. Just wanted to chime in about it being a great read.

The Unwritten #1
Easily the best promotional idea for introducing a comic since Robert Kirkman gave away the first issue of The Astounding Wolf-Man on FCBD a couple years back. Even better is the fact that this was a great read. After reading this you get the feeling that there is some much history even though this is the first issue. I like how they didn't dance around the Harry Potter similarities, even poking fun at it... no matter how different they made the character from Harry Potter it would be dubbed a HP rip-off since Rowling has a franchise tag on anything wizard, so I like that they kinda threw the similarities at the readers face. The art was solid, maybe not great but very above average.

STORY - 9.5
ART - 8
OVERALL - 9
