They were still open around 8:30. I ended up getting 20th Century Boys. I was hoping to find something more expensive to use a 40% off on.

It's an adaptation of Ejji Yoshikawa's Mushashi.

Growing up in 17th century Sengoku era Japan, Shinmen Takezo is shunned by the local villagers as a devil child due to his wild and violent nature. Running away from home with a fellow boy at age 17, Takezo joins the Toyotomi army to fight the Tokugawa clan at the battle of Sekigahara. However, the Tokugawa win a crushing victory, leading to nearly three hundred years of Shogunate rule. Takezo and his friend manage to survive the battle, and afterwards swear to do great things with their lives. But after their paths separate, Takezo becomes a wanted criminal, and must change his name and his nature in order to escape an ignoble death. Based on the book "Musashi" by Eiji Yoshikawa, Vagabond is a fictional retelling of the life of Miyamoto Mushashi, often referred to as the "Sword Saint" - perhaps the most famous and successful of Japan's sword fighters.

I am reading in the Vizbig editions which are three volumes in one and have the color splash pages in color, as well as being printed in a larger format and uncensored. You should check them out. Supposedly Volume 3 is out, but I am unable to get it delivered to my store from fucking Diamond and money is tight so actual cash for comics is non existent right now.

Amlah, you keep praising BPRD do i need to read Hellboy before it, because the descriptions of vilume 1 i've read say it picks up where a volume of hellboy finishes.

You can jump right in. I think when I started reading it all I had read was the first Hellboy Library HC. I've read all of the B.P.R.D. trades but I still haven't gotten to the point in Hellboy when he leaves the group.

Gotta say.. having read a little into the first one at borders, I wasn't that impressed. Looked good, and I might get into it, but it didn't pull me in like Urasawa.

It will, sir, it will. Best action manga, and a contender for the comic title in general.
