I love stuff like that!
He drew Zorro in like only 20 lines. Now that's skill and confidence!

I guess from that perspective it makes sense. I hadn't even realized that.

He is.
Met him at San Diego last year.

I realized how much of a douche I sounded when I posted that.
It's cool of Wagner to give free sketches to fans.

It's understandable, though, especially if you had the impression he charged a bundle for it.

Yeah, I thought he was charging for it.
And don't get me wrong. I love Matt Wagner. I loved those Batman minis he did last year. And it's cool of him to take the time to do sketches for his fans.

Few years back, I found the three TPB's that made up the first volume of MAGE just in time to take them to Megacon with me. When I brought them to Wagner to get them signed, he not only signed all three, but he did a head sketch of the main character, not only free, but completely unasked for.
Matt Wagner is good people in my eyes.

Mine as well.
I've gotten to meet him on a few occasions. Got some sketches as well - a Zorro at SPX and a Golden Age Sandman at San Diego. He's always been cool.

I get the feeling that Oeming would be a nice guy.
He did a mini-series last year called Cross Bronx which was kind of cool and in the back of the book he published all the rejection letters he got from Marvel and DC. I don't think he takes his job for granted at all.
Oeming is a very cool guy. I chatted with him a couple years ago at the Mid-Ohio Con.

yeah it's ok. I asked him if he could sketch. He said he does quick free ones but commissions would cost. I didn't bother asking how much they cost but I can tell you from looking at his stuff they would have been amazing. Maybe next time.

I've never been to a con but I do have a few sketches from some creators that appeared at my comic shop. I'll scan them eventually but I have Batman by Geoff Johns (yes, he's actually a pretty good artist), Hellboy and Conan from Mike Mignola, and I think maybe a couple of others.
