Eternals question

Postby Justin M. Campbell » Thu Jul 23, 2009 6:37 pm

So, I picked up the Eternals by Neil Gaiman HC @ milehigh. Gave it a few reads and was intrigued by the concept. Intrigued enough the become curious about the Knauf's ongoing.

So, is the Knauf stuff worth my money or not?

Not quite as good as Gaiman. The series has since been canceled but you could more likely find the complete series pretty cheep online.

I really liked the first 6 issues, but the last 3, the X-Men crossover were pretty crap.

IMHO, the Knauf's ongoing was better than Gaiman's mini. The last three issues weren't as good as the first six, but they were cramming every possible plot wrap-up they could into them.
Something that everyone should know: There is no objective good and very little objective bad in entertainment media. Of the objective bad, much of it is unintentionally hilarious which gives it entertainment value for some people. If you understood this then 99% of your petty arguments would never happen. Learn to realize that you have different tastes then the guy you are arguing with and move on. And before someone calls me a hypocrite, notice that I never go in calling something bad. I always go in to defend something.

What I still get a kick out of is that in the X-Books from time to time when they are doing the outdoor scenes in San Fransisco you see the Big Guy just standing in Golden Gate Park. At least the editors are acknowledging what the Knauf's were trying to do.

Punchy is almost always wrong, but this is a rare instance in which he is correct. :D
