Namor doesn't have a rocky or fur-coverd body, either. |

Definetly one of the most WTF? costumes ever. |

Only Grell drew that in a way that made it sort of acceptable. Of course, it needed a line drawn at the neck and purple instead of flesh-tone below the neck and you got a cool costume. Instead, Cosmic Boy was working on the side as a male stripper and making Night Girl happy with being her boy toy in very little clothing. Equality, sadly means the guys have to go as naked as the gals. |

Let's you carry your car keys, house keys and money. Keeps the bugs from eating your danglie bits. Keeps the fuglies from your danglie bits. Keeps Starlord from your danglie bits. Keeps women from laughing at your danglie bits. |

I never was too crazy of the purple costume I prefered the pink..er, "pale scarlet" ones. ![]() |

You like the pink ones.... just say it man. ![]() ![]() That one was one of his best, but I prefer his Legionnaires/Reboot one. |

The Fashion History of Blok... ![]() ![]() LSH #253. Joe Staton (spelt incorrectly above) designed the original Blok. Pure grey. By the end of the issue he added the distictive collar. LSH #272. Dick Janes puts circle in the collar (never seen again). The interiors of the book have Steve Ditko softening the brow. LSH #284 - Pat Broderick softens the brow even more LSH Annual #1 - Keith Giffen basically give Blok a Thing brow LSH #295 - Giffen soften the brow and gives Blok some color to his shorts for the first time Best of DC #24 - the "what was Perez thinking" outfit LSH #298 - Giffen softens the brow and Blok is now made of a softer rock body LSH #1 - Giffen ditches the pajamas, loses a nose and Blok becomes cratered LSH #13 - Steve Lightle gives Blok the shoulder pads, bracelets and his distincitive shorts. Action #863 - Gary Frank has a a variation of Lightle's shorts (not shown). |

Very nice. But you forgot his red and yellow pants and mutation look prior to the Magic Wars. That and his 5YG appearance. Giffen could be such a prick in those days. Or the Bierbaums. |

Because Cat demanded it - the not quite in-continuity Blok Fashion Page... ![]() LSH #313 - Technically this Giffen design comes after the red & blue pajamas. LSH #51 - Giffen dumps the shoulder pad design and gets Blok back in trunks only. LSH #52 - Giffen dumps the shorts in favor of more pajamas and the belt pouch fad. Also the genesis of the the shoulder nodules LSH #56 - Eduardo Barreto takes the nodules to volcanic proportions LSH #4 - Keith Giffen shows us the 5YG Blok with more mutations and no pants LSH #4 - Keith Giffen shows us the 5YG with no more life BTW - Blok's death should not be attributed to Giffen or the Bierbaums. Mark Waid was the editor of those early 5YG issues and he just never liked Blok (or really any post Silver-aged Legionnaire). This is why we don't see Blok, Dawny, Tyroc, Quislet, White Witch in either Waid's two reboots (except in a comic book). If anyone is to take the title "prick" in Blok's death - it's Waid. |

That's true. Waid really did screw up the LoSH a great deal more then bring new stuff to the table. *sigh* This shows the bad side of comic fans becoming pros, they let their dislikes get the better of them. Like killing off or ruining characters just because they don't like them. They need to suck it up and really be a pro. Funny, Waid's great in my eyes with near everything else, but I swear I could punch him for some of his LoSH shenanigans. I always liked Blok because, well, this may be cornball, but he was a gentle soul type of character. His romance with Mysa was rather sweet and I liked where it was going until they did what they did to both of them. |
