In the mean time, Ultimate Avengers 1 is 1 of 11 comics I'm getting this week, which is a big tally considering I don't read Marvel.

Doom Patrol #1

I found this to be a very dull issue. I know almost nothing about the Doom Patrol, besides when they appeared in the TT in the OYL arc, which is pretty sad. (Though I've heard good things about Morrison's run.) So this issue was a big meh from me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't particularly like it. The story was ok to me. It actually bored me a little bit, like I was dozing off. The Metal Men backup was pretty good though. I liked that more than the main story actually.

As for the art, just meh. Like I said, I didn't really see anything special in this issue. I was expecting MUCH MUCH more.

I don't really plan on getting any more of this issue, which seems kind of harsh. But, I just don't see a reason for me to continue to buy it.

Doom Patrol #1

Depressing material and not in a good way. I don't mind reading about fucked up characters, but a little levity or food for thought would be nice; I read this through the first Doom Patrol trade, so I didn't get a chance to read the Metal Men backup. Still, I couldn't see this being worth a purchase, even with the "bwa-ha-ha" crew handling a small portion of the comic.
