Not a terrible month for me. I would like to get that I Kill Giants Titan Edition HC, but there are too many other books getting solicited that I haven't read yet to justify it.

The third Powers HC getting re-solicited is pretty absurd especially since they haven't canceled the original solicitation yet. :x

I think they just cancelled it in the latest Diamond Dateline.

The month overall isn't bad for me either but I'm as usual waiting to see the DCBS discounts for a final idea.

At least its not as big as the last two months. DC having no trades whatsoever for me to get helps.

I'm already going to kill my new $100 a month budget. There is a TON of stuff that just cannot resist owning, so I will pay.

Included in my "must have" pile are:

Chew Vol. 1 TP
Incognito TP
Nova TP Vol. 5 War of Kings
Gunnerkrigg Court Vol. 2 HC--This is an absolutely incredible webcomic and the print version of Vol. 1 was excellent, if a little small. No way to pass this up. Check it out: http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php
Classic GI Joe TP Vol. 6--IDW finally gets beyond the old Marvel trades!

There is a ton of ongoing manga that I love that has new volumes coming out, which is absolutely punishing. There are new volumes of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Services, Tezuka's Black Jack, Ooku Inner Chambers, Children of the Sea, 20th Century Boys and, perhaps the most awesome comic I have read all year, Detroit Metal City.

That means there are some really cool things I'm going to have to pass on:
The Barry Windsor Smith Conan Archives
Chobits Omnibus Edition
The Nam TP
Marvel Zombies Vol 3 TP

Oh well. I probably never would have gotten around to reading them any way...

I'd take Classic GI Joe TP Vol. 6 off and pick up T Nam. The Devil's Due Joe was ok, but not as good as Nam was.

Marvel only reprinted the first 50 issues in trade. Vol. 6 picks up with the original Marvel run from there (at least, I hope that's what they're doing). Still well worth getting above and beyond just about anything else from my perspective. I want the full Marvel run in trades!

I really would love to get The Nam though. Be glad you're not as budget constrained as me!

Ah I get it now. Sorry, I miss understood when you said IDW finally gets beyond the old Marvel trades. Since is is still Marvel Joe, yeah I totally agree keep up with it.

Yeah you're not the only one happy that IDW is going past issue #50 of the Marvel run. I'm looking forward to that trade as well.

Course I haven't read the first 5 volumes in a long time and they're all in storage so I hope I can remember everything without any problems. I know it ended with Cobra Island being established.

And hopefully they'll be reprinting the Secret Missions series as well as the Yearbooks.

And GI Joe vs Transformers!

I would maybe consider picking up The 'Nam as it's something I've always wanted to read, but it's a $30 trade.

By comparison, IDW's Classic GI Joe trades have the same number of issues and virtually the same page count for $20.

DCBS probably will half off the Nam trade so it'll be $15.

Hell I wish they'd half off the GI Joe trade since its the first new one from IDW (maybe they will) but still you assume that with the Nam just do more rejiggering of the cash.

Yeah, but it Marvel wasn't jacking up the prices on a standard trade reprint of 20+ y/o material, that 50% off discount would go a bit further.

Maybe that's the reason they're jacking the price up so high...

Nah, Marvel gets paid the same regardless of the discount on our end.
