Hello. I'm another refugee from the Newsarama forums where I posted also as KillerShrike. In reality I work as a school teacher in a small Louisiana town south of New Orleans. In addition to comics my interests include American history and baseball, particularly the Boston Red Sox the team I grew up rooting for when I lived in Massachusetts.

As for me, I'm a Londoner born and bred, interests includ comics (duh), Politics. Lost, BSG and much, much more

I just assumed you were still in MA. How long have you been in the Big Easy?

About 12 years now. Up until Katrina I did live in New Orleans, but had to evacuate and haven't been able to return (not that I could afford to live there now anyway).

That 79 Bronco, and of course the 70 Torino, sounds awesome.
Do you like any foreign cars?

Only really old stuff, the cars that look like they rolled straight out of the 1930's. Beautiful. My husband knows more about more modern foreign cars. Me? Just Detroit steel.

Maybe we can start a gearhead thread here or at the rama when it is up and running. I love sharing pictures of my four wheel babies.

Prices have soared? I was thinking of applying for a job there with a local communications company, but it hardly pays enough to cover exorbitant rent.

It's from an episode of Dr. Who called "The Girl in the Fireplace". I like creepy avatars.

I've talked to people who have said rents have tripled in the city from before the hurricane, but things may be a little better now. Even without the storm I probably would have had to move because of the price of gas (my commute to work used to be two hours round trip)
