I just assume that goes without saying. ;-)

first introduced these heroic characters in the anthologies The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, Witchcraft, the Dead, and Monsters,

Has this been collected?

I noticed this book to late to preorder so I'll be looking for the trade.

So I went to my usual Wednesday LCS to pick this up and was looking at the new release rack and couldn't find it. Then I started looking for Batman and Robin and it wasn't there either. Then I started looking a bit more closely and everything was from last week. So I asked the shop guy what was up and he was like "We didn't get our books, looks like we're gettin' shut down". Fuuuuuck. I guess I kinda saw it coming when he got pissed at me a couple of weeks ago for paying with a $20 and he was barely able to make change. I'll be sad to see them close, for the most part they stocked indies pretty well and they always had new books out when they opened on Wednesdays. RIP Atomic Comics in OKC.

After that I went to the Atomic Pop down the street and they hadn't gotten their new books yet :x but that store has a terrible vibe so I don't like going there anyway, then I went to All Star and they weren't open yet :? so I went and ate lunch and then went back and they had their new books out and actually had done a lot of upgrades since I had been in sometime last year so I guess it's my new non-mail order LCS. :|

Looks like each of those is a separate 100 page hardcover anthology. I don't see anywhere that they've been combined into one big book.

Too bad about your usual place, good thing there are still other options left.

I think there's still 10 comic shops in the OKC metro, but this is the second (that I know of) to close within the past 12-18 months. I have no idea how OKC supports as many shops as it does. It seems weird that we have that many.

That's a lot. The valley metro area is the largest in the country and we only have about 7.

That's quite a few, we haven't had that many in a long time unless you really count all the outlying suburbs too. I guess maybe the sad truth is your area can't support them all any longer.

LCSs need a good sympathetic additional business--I'd say maybe "The Comix 'n' Pornhole" or something. I never see any kids in the shops anyway.

The shop I go to has probably the smallest selection in town but everyone there is really cool and it is also a coffee shop/internet cafe so you always see people reading comics drinking coffee or hanging out on their laptops... no porn though.

Yeah, but in Portland isn't everything part coffee shop/internet cafe? :P

I haven't read this yet but but after flipping through the pages it will probably get a 10 from me on the strength of it having a doberman in it.
