Yes it was a week full of fantastic second coming level books, but Haunt is appealing and a big deal as well...

Do you have to wait for your box for this? And yes, since there are already 2 positive reviews there will definitely be a range of opinions.

Plus a lot of the best books wouldn't really be suitable, Planetary is the last issue, Irredeemable is in the middle of an arc, we read Sweet Tooth last issue.

Criminal or Doctor Voodoo would have been the other good choices I think.

Nope, I considered ordering it since it was a 75% off selection but it seemed like something we'd probably end up reviewing.

:? I guess so. I've not any history with Kirkman and didn't realize anyone was still into MacFarlane's designs. Honestly, this book seems to be screaming "I am everything you hated about the '90s, come back to Haunt you!"

I guess it doesn't help that I thought Spawn was bad too.

Have you not read Invincible or Walking Dead?

They're very good.

After reading this book, I want to puke on myself, then eat it.

Haunt #1

I did not like this book. It read like Kirkman was trying to be like Garth Ennis.

See, a preacher has sex with a prostitute, asks her for a freebie, smokes a cigarette, and is drawn to look like John Constantine. It's an Ennis book.

Two characters combine late in the book to become a badass character that brutally kills people. Then we see the two character's voices carrying on a conversation in their/its head. Holy Firestorm, Batman!

Add in that the badass character is only a redrawn Venom, and that the cover is by a noted has-been, and that the interior art is pretty crappy, this gets a 3. And if I waited another day or two to review it, the score would only go down. I am disliking this more every minute.

And that's my short review. Excuse me now, as I need to go drink a beer or three to try to wash the taste of stomach acid out of my mouth a little.

I thought it was okay. Didn't overall do much for me, but I sorta always feel that way about Kirkman's first issues. When things start to get better established, Kirkman starts to kick butt.

CountD: Greg, thank you for your insights.
Benderbrau: Greg: Unwrapping the riddles of the black man since 2006

Starlord: I swear if you were gay and I wasn't married we'd make the perfect fuck buddies.

Greg: I'd do many things. Coke is not one of them.
Benderbrau: Greg hates all things white.

Benderbrau: Emma, you could learn a thing or two from Greg. Greg does threesomes. That's bi done right.
