Haunt #1

So this is going to be our horror super hero book replacement for Astounding Wolf-man. It's an interesting change of pace for a first issue.

Our lead character is a jerk priest with major demons both haunting him as well as secrets that he is very obviously hiding. His brother is very quickly shown as the hero and probably the better son who it's revealed later had a demon of his own.

Daniel the priest very obviously hates his job, his family and even a beautiful girl who he once I'm guessing had a thing for. Kurt the hero/spy seems to do the right thing all the time and really is the more likable character. Kirkman is able to weave between the two rather well and adds plenty of mystery and intrigue along the way.

The art team on the book is top notch and I couldn't disagree anymore with those saying Ottley is hurt by Mcfarlane's work here. I thought it showed a different style for one of my favorite artists and actually did a lot to change it up from Invincible.

For me the book really hit where I think it needed to. It had a bit of action and a lot of mystery especially the end which I think directly effects his last mission.

Story: 8
Art: 9

Over all: 8.5

I recommend Deadpool, if only because it's 104 pages of brand new content done by some of the best names in the industry.

But Punchy is just going to quote this and piss me off by being an asshole for no reason so pick whatever will piss him off please.

thefourthman wrote:When I score this the art is going to get raked, which is sad cause I like the style, but it is a mess. Three artists with very different styles come together apparantly trying to ape another style all together and create inconsistency.... it's a shame really. I like all three artists.

Just wait till Image United comes out... that is gonna be a nightmare.

Wow, that sounds like about 112 more pages of Deadpool than any comic should ever have.

Congratulations...you just joined the stupid part of the internet.

Seriously, we get you don't enjoy the character just as much as punchy but there are those that do. He's not harming you and his second 2 ongoings came after things like exiles and captain britian were cancelled.

Honestly...I don't get the bitching sometimes, I really don't.

I think GLX should just go with the Aurora Snow book, sounds safer.

Who's pick was Haunt? Mr. Batman's? Where is the dude?

No reason to be ashamed, not like you picked Teen Titans or anything.
