That's a really average playoff rotation in all honesty. When teams are going to be pulling out trios of Beckett, Dice-K, and Lester/Wakefield/Buccholz or Lackey, Weaver and Gardland/Santana, the White Sox pitching staff is pretty middling.
I'd also be more worried about the Indians than the Tigers. The Indians I think can pull together and get back in contention. The Tigers are just a mess right now, and I don't think Leyland has the patience to pull them back from the brink.
The Tigers still are good enough to come back. Verlander is nowhere close to what he's capable of. If he starts to rebound and players like Miguel Cabrera and Edgar Renteria start producing like how people thought, they can quite easily overtake the Central. Remember the Cubs ascent in the NL Central last year over the Brewers.
I'd love to see them pull up Owens, though. I can also see them either dealing Crede, or packaging Fields with someone.
Crede's not going anywhere. Fields has disappointed and last year's production seems like a flash-in-the-pan moment. Crede is producing and he provides upper echelon defense at 3B.
