South Dakota is supposed to build the first new US refinery in 29 years although at one point American Indians there were trying to block it. Not sure if that is still the case.

Why not call them Native Americans, again?

Indians is still a misnomer, and quite honestly, offensive to some people of that descent.

I find the term Native Americans offensive.

I don't use the term.

IIRC, in polls, most prefer either Indians or more specifically their own tribe name.

I don't remember the tribe name or I would have used it.

The 2006 Associated Press Stylebook recommends use of the term American Indian and reserves Native American only for direct quotations and names of organizations.

Alaskans love the drilling. I think it's because they are the only state where the people get subsidies from oil, if I'm not mistaken.

I bet there are some Alaskans who could use some good drillin'. I'm just the Soup to do it.
