It was weird because she actually seemed to be using the same things to defend the changes and Matt's decision that most people are complaining about losing as a result of the changes and Matt's decisions. Him having built the most comprehensive source for comics news, for example. People are upset in large part because the NuRama is moving so far away from that.

See, I think the whole 'sell out' thing is bollocks myself. If Brady has seen a dividend from all the effort he's put in then all power to him. He worked hard and it paid off!

That has nothing to do with why I don't like the site anymore. I think if it wasn't for Pluck I would certainly still be posting there.

yeah, the pluck is the reason I'm not there. I just don't like it. I dont want to get used it, why should I get used to it? I still go there for info but if I'm gonna chat about stuff I'll be over here.

Same for me.

I still love the interviews and articles but the forum interface is about as unfriendly as it gets.

personally I hate the Pluck, but there are a few people over there that I don't see over here and Matt built this house, so I will post of there and rough it out, hoping they fix it before the beta stage is over.

I one hundred percent agree with nieto that more power for him if he grabbed some loot. As far as the changes going on, I really don't see a loss of coverage, just a loss of ease of use.

I agree. He made a kick-ass site and deserves to see some scratch for it. My problems are purely about funtionality, or lack of.

The one and only thing that bugged me (and even bugged is too strong a word) is that he knows how we are. Or more specifically the community of Talk@ in general. He had to have known that all of the function issues they messed up were going to ruffle feathers. That means one of two things. Either it was out of his hands and was an Imaginova decision OR he considered how much people would dislike it and went ahead and did it anyways. The former I understand because it's out of his hands. The latter however is in fact a little bit of a diss because it's the same thing as saying I really don't care what you people think.

It's not by choice. I just can't log in

I honestly do think that it was a decision that was taken out of his hands.

people are confused

Postby Crump » Thu Jun 12, 2008 1:03 pm

i think gail might be confused, like some of the talk@ posters. i haven't left Rama--I still visit and read the frontpage. it's just the forums I'm not a fan of at the moment.

I think the front page is awesome. Great decision and it makes previewing the comics so much sweeter.

The forums, how ever are very cold. Talk@ has been neutered with all of the additional sub-forums. Less is more when it comes to sub-forums.

Considering how badly it was functioning in the last couple of weeks, it was probably something Matt had to do.

Um, did she and CBR have a falling out? Wasn't it her "You'll All Be Sorry" column that lead to Marvel noticing her and giving her a shot?

That's just it though, it IS possible to fix a problem without retooling the site for the worse.

As far as I know she posts regularly at CBR and the Bendis boards.
