It doesn't matter what his intentions were.
I just don't think the Yankees need a distraction like that.
And also keep in mind, that sure sometimes things he does get blown out of proportion, but he's not 100% innocent either. This is a guy who got arrested for choking his pregnant wife. That gives you an indication right there.
He's burned bridges almost everywhere he's played. Even last year he resorted to the race card re: his problems in Oakland with Billy Bean.
Sure the production he gives (if he's healthy......and that's a big if) is great, but there's a lot that comes along with him.
