Deadpool Team-Up #899

Unlike seemingly everyone else here, I have no real opinion on Deadpool. I am not a fan, although I have found the character to be amusing on the few occasions when I have read his books. Thus, I came into this review with far fewer preconceived notions than most others reading this book.

I liked it. The story was light, but still a lot of fun. I thought Deadpool's "multi-voice" was a fun gimmick, and it brought a few laughs. Hercules was used to good effect, and Deadpool's solution to the quandry facing him at the end of the book was pretty clever. Sure, it's not the greatest book ever written, but it met my expectations. Fred Van Lente turned in a solid effort.

As for the art, it was serviceable, but not great. Honestly, I really do not have any more to say than that.

Story: 7.5
Art: 7
Overall: 7.5

Haven't gotten to the shop yet this last week. I'm getting the book, but don't think I'll make it in time for the front page posting. :(

I usually (I say usually because I am occasionally stricken with bouts of extreme laziness) go back and edit in any late reviews so it will still end up there for later generations to bask in the full glory of the Review Group.

and seriously, like what book or character have we reviewed the most.

Four for Deadpool seems really out of proportion.

Deadfett really likes Deadpool. The C&D issues were back to back picks for him.

The second C&D pick came in Week 62, you didn't sign up until Week 73.

And here's a non-exact list, I just tried to pull by featured character...

Batman - 11
All-Star Batman & Robin #7
Batman #655
Batman #663
Batman #686
Batman and Robin #1
Batman and the Outsiders #1
Batman: Cacophony #1
Detective Comics #821
Gotham Underground #2
Superman/Batman #37
Trinity #4

Spider-Man - 7
Amazing Spider-Man #537
Amazing Spider-Man #575
Amazing Spider-Man #597
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #8
Spider-Man: Reign #1
Ultimate Spider-Man #105
Ultimate Spider-Man #97

Superman - 6
Action Comics #844
Action Comics Annual #10
Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #1
Superman/Batman #37
Superman: World of New Krypton #1
Trinity #4

Punisher - 5
Punisher War Journal #1
Punisher #1
Punisher MAX #45
Punisher War Journal #11
Punisher: War Zone #1

After that Hulk, Flash and Deadpool each had 4.

I talked about the new Flaming Lips record in the OP about a month before you started your thread about it too. :P
