That's pretty shocking... wow...

I just heard this a few minutes ago, apparently he had a heart attack and collapsed while recording a voice over for meet the press. He was one of the few figures covering politics who I felt like I could still trust, and he *always* asked the tough questions, regardless of who he was interviewing.
He'll be sorely missed.

Meet The Press was the most 'fair & balanced' political show that I've ever seen. I'm sad for his family, because 58 is way too young to die, but I'm also sad for good television journalism.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Wow. I'm floored.
I may not have always agreed, but I had tremendous respect for the man. In his honor, "Go Bills!"

Just found out, myself.
I'm stunned. What a great loss.
May he rest in peace.

Wow. That floored me. I thought the guy had a lot of integrity. Even though he was a Democrat, he would give them a tough time when they were on his show. What makes this creepy was Terry McAulifee (sp?) talking about "Big Russ in the sky" when Russert's dad is still alive.

58 is really no age to die. Rest in peace.

Talk about having the wind knocked out of you - I got in my car after Hulk and this was the first thing I heard. I never thought he'd go so soon.
I heard he did just get back from a vacation in Europe. I hope he got to use that time with at least some of his family.

He did, they were in Italy celebrating his son's graduation.
I'm watching MSNBC right now and Olbermann has had to physically fight back tears on multiple occasions.
