Personally, I think Matt Damon would be perfect for the role.
Now Matt Damon really is short!
And like someone said, Pitt will be like.. 50 when this actually comes out.

Yes but he keeps upgrading with the internal organs of the many orphans they adopt.

He's going by the Price Is Right philosophy....get closest without going over.

And if they get to many huge stars Avengers might not get made.

Yeah, but I don't think that's really a big deal, a lot of great actors have been short and it hasn't hurt them at all. I feel like he has the acting chops, has experience in both action and war movies, and already has an affection for the source material.

That guy couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. There's a reason he disappeared completely for years between Smallville and Flash Gordon. Even SMALLVILLE wouldn't take him!

They only need three.
Cap, Iron Man, and Hulk or Thor, whichever one they go with in the movie. Everyone else can be minor. But you go balls to the wall for CAPTAIN AMERICA. If for no one else, you do it for Cap.

Thor doesn't even have to talk. You can just go all Conan and have someone who looks the part and spouts off their three obligatory lines per movie.

Please god, no Decrappio. He's been blessed with working with some great directors, but unless he's playing someone who's metally challenged, I wouldn't call him a great actor.
As for the Red Skull, call me crazy, but how about getting a guy to play him who's, I don't know, German?

No.. there's no point to even having Thor if that's all you're gonna do.
I'm envisioning an Ultimate Thor type character.

You'd definitely be in the minority then. I think most people who don't like him can even give him his props in the acting department. And there's a reason he gets work with great directors.

It's Hollywood. That's not such a big deal. Besides, I've seen Malkovich (because the guy would be PERFECT) do accents (not sure if he's done German) and he's usually pretty spot on.
