At least you recognize that they are "wrongs". :-D

Do you mean cover his whole face? I think he's always used masks.

doombug wrote:the mask is terrible for clint, hence why dave's redesign rocked. it got rid of the mask and gave him these cool glasses.

I don't remember him with glasses in his recent costume (though Mockingbird now sports them).

EDIT: Or did you mean thi?

Anyways I feel that Captain America in Mighty was more like an uncertain kid who is green to this whole deal, when in reality Bucky is a seasoned veteran whose only uncertainty is wether or not he is living up to Steve's legacy. That said I highly doubt he would care what Hank Pym thinks, the guy is a wife beater for poop's sake.

I will admit that Bendis has trouble with characterization with an essemble cast though. But when he focuses on single characters it's solid gold, the last few issues have also been incredible in that department anyways.

I get that you like Slott a lot, but I don't. He has written a few good stories, but it seems like so much of his energy is focused into "writing the wrongs" of the Marvel Universe and it gets irritating. I don't think it's wrong that Clint Barton is running around as Ronin right now. It makes those few moments when he uses his bow and arrows even more satisfying. I also dislike him for his part in BND (although I understand it was his job and he probably didn't agree with it) but still his very first issue on the title had him as a bum who couldn't even hold a job.

Well done, you're an intelligent mature comics reader. You have great taste.

Amoebas wrote:It's called "characterization" for a reason.

What is NOT characterization is when people like Austen or Bendis (and Millar and other later) have a story they want to tell and squeeze the 'actors' into it, disregarding continuity and characterization in the process.

The aforementioned Wanda suddenly not knowing about her kids, or the Avengers suddenly being shy about talking about them, Wanda suddenly having been crazy for years & Hawkeye suddenly forgetting his almost brother love and support for Hank.
Hawkeye suddenly wanting to bang the Wasp.
Hawkeye suddenly being too dumb to notice that the Wasp's panties are hanging on his belt (in front of Cap and a team that was supposed to include Hank).
Hawkeye suddenly being too stupid to know how to take his quiver off.
Hawkeye, who was always establishhed as having a 'NO KILLING rule, suddenly blows up a Kree ship filled with what he thought were Kree soldiers.
She-Hulk suddenly suddenly being a slut and sleeping with Juggernaut
The Avengers suddenly not knowing about Hank's slap of Jan.
Dr Strange suddenly forgetting that choas magic exists
Dr Strange suddenly forgetting that he FAILED by not recognizing the truth about the twins HE delivered.
Captain America suddenly forgetting that Magneto is the LAST person that Wanda should be given too.
The Avengers suddenly accepting a conversation about killing their friend and teammate.
etc etc etc

If those guys didn't overuse "suddenly" so much I'd probably like them - but they didn't.

What you need to understand is that it's Slott who's returning the characterizations back to the characters (i.e. The Big Picture). I can only hope more Marvel writers do this (like Hickman appears to be doing in Fantastic Four).

Most of those things make a lot of sense.

I don't see the big deal about this either way.
Hawkeye suddenly wanting to bang the Wasp.
Hawkeye's as much of a womanizer as Tony Stark and Daredevil. As for the Wasp, i would hit it if I was Hawkeye.
Hawkeye suddenly being too dumb to notice that the Wasp's panties are hanging on his belt (in front of Cap and a team that was supposed to include Hank).
Yeah, that's dumb but as a guy who's walked into a parked car because he was too busy checking two hotties in a pool, sex and love makes you do stupid things.
Hawkeye suddenly being too stupid to know how to take his quiver off.
Like you never had trouble with keys or a zipper while in a rush.
Hawkeye, who was always establishhed as having a 'NO KILLING rule, suddenly blows up a Kree ship filled with what he thought were Kree soldiers.
Bad characterization but "no killing" rules don't have a place on a team where there's almost always world-threatening events happening.
She-Hulk suddenly suddenly being a slut and sleeping with Juggernaut
Dan slott having her as a slut? good. Someone else having her as a slut? Bad. amirite?
The Avengers suddenly not knowing about Hank's slap of Jan.
Yeah, that's bad.
Dr Strange suddenly forgetting that choas magic exists
Dr Strange suddenly forgetting that he FAILED by not recognizing the truth about the twins HE delivered.
With the Witch's reality-warping powers, she could easily make him forget.

i know people like to have him as a deus ex machina but Strange works better with flaws.
Captain America suddenly forgetting that Magneto is the LAST person that Wanda should be given too.
Yeah, stupid move.
The Avengers suddenly accepting a conversation about killing their friend and teammate.
I have no problem with it whatsoever. The Avengers are nota knitting group and are supposed to be the last line of defense against superhuman threats. If you want a team that sings "Humbayla", go read Great Lake Avengers.

It would be completely stupid for people NOT to contemplate killing Scarlet Witch. What an awesome scene.

There are 3 really good reasons why Vision HAD to die, I could list more but it might end up being redundant.

1) He is a robot, and if the Simpsons have taught me anything Robots are inheritently evil. Add to the fact that he was built by the most evil of all robots (ultron) and you know he was just going to eventually destroy the world.

2) He is a robot in love. We have already established that Wanda is a robosexual, but worst of all vision reciprocated it. It is unnatural and an affront to all the normal people who would have like to get with Wanda. I wish Wonderman would have thrown him into the sun a long time ago.

3) He is a stupid robot. Sure the vision has done some really smart things and maybe even saved the day once or... well just once that i can think of (his emergency microwave feature is very handy), but his stupidity is also the cause of his death. You see the Vision can change his density making him impervious to physical attacks, well what exactly killed him? A PHYSICAL attack. This guy should have just phased out and he would have been fine. I'm just saying you don't see Kitty Pryde getting ripped in half by she-hulk do you? (although giant bullets do seem to kill her from time to time)

I could think of other incontinuity reasons why the vision should not exist, but if those are not damning enough then well I guess some people are just wierd.

Vision was not capable of acting of his own will at the time of his death.

I seem to recall that, that's probably because he is so weak minded he couldn't handle a simple dose of chaos magic. Point 3 is still valid
