True however that dosn't color my view of him as an actor. I like Summer Glau and that, uh...blonde dude? And in the interest of full disclosure, never saw Firefly, just Serenity.

As long as he's a white dude we're good. Hugh Laurie as Steve Rogers!

Let me reclarify then.
I liked his performance on Firefly/Serenity.

beneath him? yeah, b/c Con Air, Johnny English, and Eragon were such cinematic masterpieces...

I should probably give Firefly a chance sometime. I just doubt it can live up to the hype and fervor.

Where will this madness end!! And I thought it was bad when Seagal cast Joan Chen as a Native American.
I think Aussies and Americans get along so well because criminal minds think alike

Really, give it a try, King. But go in with an open mind. The first time I watched it I thought, meh, but the second time I realized just what a great new world Joss had created.

I will one of these days. I'm a huge Joss fan too. Serenity just didn't do it for me. I've seen Fillion in some random roles though. Buffy of course, and LOST. A couple other things.

I just try to go in to most things without thinking about hype.
If I like it, I like it. I dont care what other people say. If you don't like Serenity or Firefly, it's not like you're wrong

I respect Fillion's acting range.
He's great at comedy, has a truly commanding presence, can do the romantic stuff as well as the peeved stuff... but my favorite aspect of NF's acting is when he flips the switch into angered mode.
For a non-radioactive superhero, he really sells the old, "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" vibe.
Anyone having doubts about Nathan, who also hasn't seen Firefly yet, should start by watching episode #8 "Out of Gas". Then go back and start from the beginning and see if your respect for Mal/Nathan hasn't grown.

Nathan Fillion would be good for it i think.
Cap in the film has to be a bit older, he can't be some guy in his mid-twenties if he's gonna be shouting orders at RDJ and Ed Norton and whoever's gonna be Thor.

I don't really think that's how the first film will play out. I don't expect him to be shouting orders at anyone.. he'll be the man out of time, unsure of his place for the majority of the first film, IMO.
Given Stark's connection to SHIELD, I would assume he'll be doing most of the ordering.
