ImageThe Marvel Universe changes forever today as Siege #1, from thechart-topping team of superstars Brian Michael Bendis and OlivierCoipel, is on-sale NOW!

This is the end of the Marvel Universe as you know, but what’s the price of victory? The comic book event seven years in the making begins here as every major Marvel character gets involved in the greatest assembly of heroes and villains you’ve ever seen!

Critics and fans agree—Siege is a hit!

“Siege #1 works incredibly well, building off the layered tapestry Marvel has woven over the past several years while retaining focus and a sense of purpose that kicks off Marvel's 2010 with style. I'm truly looking forward to what's around the corner and what new developments this will lead to in the coming year.”—Richard George, IGN.Com

“Siege thrives on the sheer pulp insanity of a lot of its concepts… thanks to Marvel's commitment to crafting a coherent universe for its characters, signals the start of a major shift in its status quo.”-- Benjamin Birdie,  ComicBookResources.Com

“Coipel just knocks it out of the park… in terms of pacing and above all action, this is certainly my favorite Bendis-penned megaevent yet”—David Pepose, Newsarama.Com

Plus, don’t miss exclusive SIEGE high quality prints available at the Marvel Print Store (http://prints.marvel.com) from superstar artists such as Marko Djurdjevic, Simone Bianchi, Billy Tan and more!

If by 'rocks' you mean it's about as interesting as a pet rock, I suspect you are probably correct.

I am sufficiently excited for this weeks book. With the exception of house of m the marvel crossover main books have been pretty decent and fun reads.

I read two really good indie Bendis books last month, I intend to use those to fuel my hate.

House of M was the only good Marvel crossover since they started enforcing their crossover driven universe.

(Not counting Annihilation and Annihilation: Conquest of course since those are basically outside of the Marvel Universe proper)

I feel your pain, but this book was pretty good. I enjoyed it. It is almost as cool as Ultimate Comics Avengers on the popcorn level and it may be just a touch smarter.

Annihilation sucked.

House of M was wasted potential, when the crossover minis are better than the main book, you have failed.

Civil War was awesome, I don't care what you jaded fuckers say. I also like Disassembled. Secret Invasion went on way too long and World War Hulk was meh.

okay the second half is Bendis doing Hickman in Bendis speak:
SPIDER-MAN: Says who?
NORMAN OSBORN: Excuse me?
SPIDER-MAN: I mean, who says it ain’t
supposed to be here. It was there and now it’s
here. Who says no?
NORMAN OSBORN: God.
SPIDER-MAN: Really? Because I bet those
guys kinda know more about God than you.
NORMAN OSBORN: It’s not supposed to
be here on Earth. It’s not supposed to be in the
United States.
HAWKEYE: How do you know?
ARES: Osborn is right. And I, son of Zeus,
prince of Olympus, do know the true way of
things. Asgard is part of a realm and it does not
belong here. Something is wrong. The balance of
the universe is upset.
HAWKEYE: And it’s our problem how?
ARES: We’re the Avengers. We’re the protectors
of this realm.
HAWKEYE: Uh-huh.
MS. MARVEL: It does seem sort of beyond
our pay grade, Norman. Mathematically.
However, that shit is pretty funny.

best line:
HAWKEYE: Yeah. See...he is the god of
war. And there’s just one of him. And I am now
shutting my ass up. And I am a badass man.
I’m known, specifically, as a badass. And one of
them, just one, got me to shut the hell up.
