Dan Didio leaving DC??

Postby xaraan » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:19 pm

I'm probably the last one to see this, but I'll try...

Anyone see the story about Didio being ousted from DC?

DC is the Mets of comic book publishers. I wouldn't mind having Didio go at this point, especially considering Dixon being pushed out

There's no evidence of anything in that blog. Whatsoever.

This is what happens when bloggers and msg board posters start all using each other as "sources."

How many guys in the T-W boardroom, wearing $3000 Armani suits and $800 Prada shoes do you think read this stuff?

I wouldn't call this a story so much as wishful thinking on the part of the blogger based on old news. There's no new information here, except possibly the completely unconfirmed (as far as I know) part about Didio's contract expiring in October 2008, which may or may not even be accurate.

Hey, I was just passing along something I saw linked from another site. I'm not into DC all that much, so I'm not sure what is going on or how valid it could or could not be. I do think that site is a notch above a normal blog though isn't it? Not sure, but they do a lot of stories there. Anyways, I realize it is more rumor, but I thought it was still interesting.

How would I know? Someone needs to ask Paul Levitz. Or ask T-W.

But I see no evidence, nor any reason, why it would happen. If it does, it does. If not, not.

But again, I don't see a real argument, or any evidence.

Not much to go on with that article but I do foresee a shake-up coming before the end of the year in DC editorial.

Exactly. It's not so much that no one thinks it will happen, or even might or should happen.

There's just no evidence that it will, just unsubstantiated "rumors", some disappointed fans, fans who care a lot more about sales figures than they have any reason to, and a disgruntled ex-employee who isn't even naming names.

It's funny how cyclical the calling for the head of EIC's of the big two is.

Almost as much as the requests for actresses to do nude scenes. :-D

Man, Didio would just punch the source wall and, BLAM, he's back on the job!

Yeah. You think people would just shut up as usually it's just people voicing their own displeasure rather than anything of substance.

That said, even though I don't like current DC, I don't think Didio would be leaving anytime soon. It's possible but not likely.
