I think he's been writing for TNA for the last few years. Has anyone ever seen Morrison and Russo in the same room at the same time? 90% chance they are the same guy.

Final Crisis was bad, but Russo bad? Ouch!

Feast or Famine seems like a fourth wall breaking, Animal Man-esque storyline that Morrison would have tried to write.

I don't think it has started yet, but they announced something a couple months ago.

If those books had been released with a $1 first issue, I would have picked them both up and given them a shot.

The $1 issues by Boom and Vertigo have been a major reason for me checking out books that I was on the fence about picking up and the $4 first issues by Marvel and DC have been a big reason for me not checking out other books I was on the fence about.

You may have tried it, but would you have enjoyed it enough to spend $2.99 on subsequent issues?

Maybe. I don't know because I didn't read them. I know that the $1 issues of Irredeemable and The Unwritten led to me buying those books at $2.99.

the point is at least the book would have had a chance. At 2.99, a book like that has no chance with a lot of people. Sales is all about getting in front of people.

we'll never know because it didn't happen. I think Unwritten and this book see better sales then they would have as a result of the price.

People seem to like SWORD, a lot. The third issue just hit the stands with the announcement that 5 was it.

With the FOC system, #3 is the settle down point. If it had a #1 that was only a dollar it would probably have another issue before the attrition would have forced the hand and that is another issue for word of mouth to get out.

I know that you are going to say it sucks and that is why it is cancelled, but you know what? I genuinely don't think anyone puts out comics that they think suck and some people like books you don't. Giving them an edge in the market place can only be a good thing, regardless of any other issues the book may have.

i seriously have to use quick reply just to post in this thread.

charging 3.99 for one shot or an annual is no big deal.
