Robocop #1
as selected by GHERU[/center]
Writer: Rob Williams
Penciller/Inker: Fabiano Neves
Dynamite Entertainment proudly presents the dynamic debut of Robocop by writer Rob (Classwar) Williams and artist Fabiano (MARVEL ZOMBIES VS. THE ARMY OF DARKNESS) Neves! Under two awesome covers - one by the sensational Stephen Segovia and the other by Dynamite's newest artistic sensation (and the pupil of artist David Finch) Johnny D! - Dynamite goes back to basics as it unveils the dystopian, deeply satirical, and all-out violent world of Robocop.
This is ROBOCOP meets the conspiracy theory mystery of ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, following on from Paul Verhoeven's original by mixing high action, extreme violence and satire. Plus: the return of ED-209!

In honor of our
4 year anniversary and as decided by
group vote,
Week 208 is going to be a FREE
4ALL!
What does this mean? It means you can review whatever book you want and as many books as you want! Anyone can participate, the Review Group loves bringing in new members so this is the perfect opportunity for anyone and everyone to join in the fun.
Sounds pretty simple, right? I though so, so I'm playing my tyrant card and adding a twist.
The more books you review next week, the further up the pick ladder you're going to climb. Review one book, you'll move up the list just like normal. Review 2, 3,
4 books, etc., you'll move the corresponding number of spots up the list. To keep it fair and balanced, there are a couple of rules you have to follow:
1. For a comic to count as one of your reviews, it must be on Diamond's shipping list for February 3rd.
2. The Review must be at least
208 words. No pellet reviews, if you want to move up the list you'll have to earn it.
The deadline to get your reviews posted for the ladder climbing will be midnight on Tuesday February 9th (Kerny will maintain his position for February 10th to ensure we have an on-time pick for that week). Before the next thread goes up, I'll tally the reviews and update the Member's list with the results.
The jumps will be applied by the lowest total jumps first in order from top to bottom progressively until the top reviewer has been applied. If a reviewer reaches the top of the ladder without using all of his or her jumps those will carry over and be applied the week after his pick. If two reviewers land in the same spot, the reviewer with the most credited jumps will take the first position.
If you would like to join the group it's easy. Just post a review and I'll add you to the member's list. As long as you stay active, eventually it will be your turn to make a pick.
With $4 comics becoming the norm, the economy being what it is and the growing popularity of mail order services the Review Group recognizes that it's becoming harder and harder to commit to participating each and every week. As long as you can post one review per calendar month you will stay in the member's list. It doesn't matter if you post your review the week of it's release or if you post it later. Going forward, there is no such thing as a "late" review.
The only request I make with the new format is that if you don't plan on posting a review or if you're going to be posting late is that you drop a note in the thread so that I can keep track of who is active and who isn't. The Spreadsheet of Doom is thorough, but it can't read your mind.
Comics are to be scored on a scale from 1-10. 1 being suck, 10 being a damn good comic. Beyond that, there's no right or wrong.
If it's your week, you must announce your selection by 5pm EST the day Diamond releases it's shipping list. If you do not announce your pick at that time, I will add a poll to the thread that will remain open until 12pm EST so that the group can make the selection for that week. (If you're seriously MIA, I'll probably put the poll up sooner) To ensure that you know it's your week, I will PM you when Midtown's list goes live on Thursdays.
