Where is this coming from? Have any comics even hinted at it?

Chuck Austen had Northstar develop a crush on Iceman in his Uncanny X-Men run. I thought it was a good idea, but fanboys don't like characters changing sexuality over a 40 year period.

His only relationship I can recall was with an asian woman, which is something 'closeted' gay men are supposed to be known for.

Bobby also pined for Lorna for a long while. I think Bobby has chosen relationships with women that won't work because he is a gay deep down!

But isn't that just Northstar's sexuality, he can fancy straight people.

Or does he have Gaydar as a secondary mutation? :P

I can understand it with Rictor and Shatterstar, where it was hinted at, but with Iceman it just seems like grasping at straws.

There was an issue Austen wrote for that X-men book which focused on a different member every issue. "X-men unlimited?" I think that was it. Anyway Austen had Iceman go to a club where only men were there, a stereotypical "gay" club and he said it was his frequent hangouts. Plus he made an ice sculpture of a man to scare someone and he made the man "almost as beautiful as me".

Nah, if you look at Iceman's dating history, he doesn't have nearly the same number of women as Warren (no surprise there), Hank or Scott. If an uptight teacher's pet like Scott can get laid more than someone who should be able to do amazing cold-temperature-related things to women, then there's precedence for loving sausage.

It's just a weird obsession people have.

Some people will not be happy until every single character is turned gay

it's weird.

as if we haven't been reading their thoughts for decades.

 a lot guys like asian women. That's why there is asian women porn.

I never did actually.

Austen did a lot of weird things because he was messed up.

That's a bit far-fetched.

The Draco sucked (except for Havok & co. pissing Iceman a new body), but he shook things up in an interesting way. He made Juggernaut more than the one-dimensional 'Cain' to Xavier's 'Abel'.
Warren & Paige was the comics equivalent of Hollywood's May/December romances.
Crazy Lorna is the only good Lorna since PAD's original X-Factor run.
Havok finally got out of Scott's shadow (almost too much, but I'll take that over the little brother complex the previous 20-30 years had).
Northstar was the most interesting he's been since Byrne's Alpha Flight.
Iceman actually had character and personality, as opposed to chewing the background.

i agree with your whole post. I mean, i love Iceman, he's my favorite Xman. I wouldn't hate it if he was gay, i would just prefer him to be how he has been written, not because i care about his orientation, its just that I've always identified with him, and I like how he always wanted Lorna, but never really won. That appeals to me.
