you know I was thinking about this. And the whole "bending" of the elements is something I had never seen until this show. Maybe they got it from some obscure anime, but really to me it was new and clever. It was done again by Jim Butcher, but it was a lot better in Avatar. Sure the quest plot line is derivative, but at least it's a fun plot line and it is done incredibly well.

And if you think about it, it had elements of Superman too. Aang was the last of his kind. But they mixed everything so well that it didn't feel like something I'd seen before.

reading it all the way through you don't really mind the focus on Sasuke. Still about 70% of it is purely following Naruto.
